I got a little BOSU balance work in after my cardio this morning. This was my first session using my new BOSU, and turns out my balance isn’t what it used to be (glad I could edit out me climbing on the thing...). My growing baby belly definitely is playing a roll in changing my center of gravity as well as shortening how far I can squat comfortably before belly meets thigh.
Some things to remember when working on balance:
-pick one spot to look at (the more you’re looking around the more you will wobble)
-keep core activated and tight!
-slow and deliberate movements work best so you can recover little losses of balance quickly
-your feet may cramp up a little because you’re working all those tiny muscles to stay upright but try to keep your toes spread and your feet flat
-keep breathing (people normally hold their breath)
In order for balance to improve, you must first challenge balance by getting off balance. Little by little, it will improve!
