I got some more dynamic balance work in after my workout this morning. Balance has always been something I’ve struggled with, but instead of avoiding working on it, I try to add a little bit in each workout day.
I always tell my patients that balance is a “use it or lose it” kind of thing. The good news is that it doesn’t have to stay “lost.” The more you challenge it and work on it, the better your balance will get. Don’t avoid the hard things you struggle with!
If you want to try this move and it feels too advanced for you, try just tapping the back toe behind you instead of raising your leg all the way up. As it gets easier, try to keep the back leg off the ground longer and eventually higher as well.
